OFFICE OF THE VICE-CHANCELLOR
I want to thank the guardians, and parents for your patience and understanding while we prepared for the 42nd Graduation Ceremony. We typically have one of our two annual graduations in June, but due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, we had to adjust our calendar and have it in July, that is today. We made the
decision not to skip a graduation and have a virtual one because of our concern for you.
DIVISION OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRS
Upon admission to Egerton University, our students arrive brimming with hopes, desires, and prospects of the future. They walk under soothing shadows cast upon sidewalks by ageing trees to and from classes, burning with a desire to learn and acquire knowledge before the sun sets in the distant horizon.
DIVISION OF RESEARCH AND EXTENSION
Today we celebrate with you an important event in yourself, your graduation, in the midst of a global health shock – the COVID-19 pandemic. When you began this journey sometimes back, our promise was to transform lives through quality education as you uphold discipline, sacrifice and hard work.
DIVISION OF ADMINISTRATION, PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT
I join the University fraternity in congratulating this year's cohort on the 42nd Graduation Ceremony. This year's graduation event is unique. It is the first time in the University's history that a graduation ceremony is being conducted virtually.
